The life lessons and tough love that helped Tracy Schmitt become Unstoppable
Tracy has climbed the Himalayan mountains. She has captained a 110-foot-tall ship. She has won a bronze medal in para-skiing. And by the way, she was born a 4-way amputee.
From an early age, Tracy – who has become known as Unstoppable Tracy – knew that if she wanted something, she would have to work a little harder than the next person to get it. To her advantage, she didn’t see that as a hardship. For her, she wasn’t deterred by the process. Instead, all she saw was the goal. And, at the age of 4, her primary goal was to play tag with the neighbourhood kids. At 10, her goal was to learn how to sail. And in her teens, her goal was to ski.
Tracy credits her mother’s tough love, the special mentors who have enriched her life and her “can-do” attitude for the many achievements and successes she has achieved throughout her life. But if you ask me, I think there’s something magical about Tracy. Listen to her story and you decide.
